The Three Essays
A Feral Commons has sparked discussions about climate change and the potential of public art in building stronger and more resilient communities. Local writers in Dubai, Johannesburg, and Kingston (Ahmad Makia, Samantha McCulloch, and Isis Semaj-Hall) have been asked to write about the public art commission in their city, shedding light on local histories, socio-political conditions, and environmental concerns. These writings, available for download as individual PDFs below, contribute to the collaborative and discursive approach of the Global Co-commission. They form a vital part of the project’s archive, legacy, and intellectual leadership.
